| Yhteenveto: | The present investigation was carried out in order to collect biological information and control measures for Sternochetus mangiferae in Mangifera indica mango cultivation, since it is relevant for farmers to know the life cycle of the insect and even more so in what stage said insect attacks or has its highest incidence, since most farmers can notice the presence of the insect when it is in its adult stage, because it emerges from the fruit that causes galleries, which are very noticeable and it is there when the farmer only realizes it through the galleries he leaves in the fruit. There are different methods for the control of Sternochetus mangifera, however, the most used or executed is the chemical control, because it acts quickly to counteract the presence of the insect in the mango crop, it is worth mentioning that the other controls are scale down. We have some species of insects that are beneficial because they exert natural control over Sternochetus mangiferae, but when we apply chemicals we are eliminating these beneficial insects, so it is very important to have a notion of the insects that can control the fruit weevil of mango The demonstrated constant favors to be able to execute an opportune control before the possible presence of the pest, remember that when this plague causes gallery in the fruit, the damage is already irreversible, that is to say, the fruit is not apt to be commercialized, which causing significant economic losses. |
