The purpose of this study is the effectiveness of biostimulants applied through the foliage of Roman lettuce Lactuca sativa L. in the Babahoyo area, Los Ríos. The present study was carried out at the experimental farm 'Jorge Yánez Castro' of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences (FACIAG), Technical University of Babahoyo (UTB). “Roman” variety seeds were used for sowing. The experimental design applied was Randomized Complete Blocks, which included thirteen treatments and was carried out with three repetitions. To make comparisons and adjustments in the means of the investigated treatments, the Tukey test was used at a level of 95% reliability. The results of the study allowed us to affirm that the application of growth biostimulants in the crop serves as an increase in the growth and production of romaine lettuce in the town of Babahoyo. Specifically, the application of Newfol Plus in a dose of 350 g had greater production, yield, and net profit with a cost-benefit ratio of 2.22 with the other products in the study. Es particularmente útil para el cuerpo humano en términos de salud, en particular, es uno de los grandes suministradores de vitamina K con un contenido de 113 μg en cada ración de 100 g y es considerada como una verdura baja en calorías, proporcionando hasta 19,6 kcal por 100 g. El propósito de este estudio es la efectividad de los bioestimulantes aplicados mediante el follaje de Lechuga “romana” Lactuca sativa L. en la zona de Babahoyo, Los Ríos. El presente estudio se efectuó en la granja experimental ‘Jorge Yánez Castro’ de la Facultad de Ciencias Agropecuarias (FACIAG), Universidad Técnica de Babahoyo (UTB). Se emplearon semillas de variedad “romana” para la siembra. El diseño experimental aplicado fue de Bloques Completos al Azar, que incluyó trece tratamientos y se llevó a cabo con tres repeticiones. Para realizar comparativos y ajustes en las medias de los tratamientos investigados se utilizó la prueba de Tukey a un nivel del 95% de confiabilidad. Los resultados del estudio permitieron afirmar que la aplicación de bioestimulantes de crecimiento en el cultivo sirve como un incremento en el crecimiento y producción de lechuga romana en la localidad de Babahoyo.
