Description
Summary:This document deals with the benefits of Moringa (Moringa oleifera) as a medicinal plant. The shrub plant M. oleifera has a great ecological plasticity, since it is capable of adapting to the most diverse edaphoclimatic conditions. Its nutritional value and high biomass yields make it an important phytogenetic resource in production systems, which can be consumed by various categories of animals. Moringa is a plant with multiple uses and properties, such as: living fence, windbreaker, green manure, medicinal, ethanol production and rubber production; hence it is an interesting species for the tropics. Due to the above, it was determined that moringa has been used since ancient times, for the relief of up to 300 different ailments; applications that have largely deserved the confirmation of recent clinical studies, although much remains to be explored and stands out as a powerful nutritional and energy contribution, with antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antihistamine, antibacterial, lipid-lowering, hypoglycemic, eupeptic properties (favors digestion ), emollients, skin protectors, and antifungal agents.
