Тойм:This case study focused on the analysis for the development of a prototype of an educational social network for the information systems career of the Faculty of Administration, Finance and Informatics. This project arose due to the learning difficulties presented by students in different subject areas of the career and how these affect their academic performance. The main objective was to analyze the necessary characteristics that a prototype of an educational social network for the information systems career should have. To achieve this objective, a qualitative methodology was used, which allowed a detailed approach to the needs and requirements, using interviews with a focus group of students and the career coordinator, which provided important information for the analysis. The results obtained through the interviews indicate that a prototype of an educational social network should have specific characteristics to meet the needs of students and teachers of the information systems career. These characteristics include the possibility of sharing information, creating work groups, sharing resources and categorizing learning modules. The study was able to analyze the necessary characteristics for the development of a prototype of an educational social network for the information systems career. The interviews and the qualitative methodology used were fundamental to obtain significant results, in conclusion, the development of a prototype of an educational social network could be very useful for students and teachers of the information systems career.
