Factores de riesgo y su influencia en el desarrollo de la enfermedad pulmonar obstructiva crónica en los adultos mayores del Cantón Puebloviejo Los Ríos periodo septiembre 2017 a febrero 2018

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is a pathological process that is evidenced by an airflow limitation that is not completely reversible, limitation to airflow is usually progressive and is associated with an abnormal inflammatory response of the lungs to harmful particles or gases. This disease is characterized by a set of pulmonary pathologies, which are emphysema and chronic bronchitis. This research work generates great importance in the field of health, is aimed at older adults of the Puebloviejo canton with the purpose of informing about the risk factors that influence the development of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The main objective of this study is to strengthen the basic knowledge of COPD such as: causes, symptoms, treatment and prevention through programs of educational talks to senior citizens of the Puebloviejo canton, this as an important point to contribute to social development in the quality of life of the human being. The propositive work that was carried out at the end of the project allowed us to reduce the lack of knowledge of risk factors and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in older adults of the Puebloviejo canton, which shows the achievement of good results as a result of the hard and meticulous work carried out.
