The purpose of this study is to describe the benefits of organic gardens, their importance and the types of vegetables used in urban areas of Ecuador. A theoretical, inductive/deductive approach was used to complete the project using bibliographic research of books and scientific articles. With positive results and multiple benefits, it concludes demonstrating the importance of organic vegetable gardens in Ecuadorian cities, from the healthy to the economic point of view.
