This parasite, whose life cycle and environmental resistance make its eradication difficult, can cause serious diseases in young pigs or in cases of massive parasitization, including anemic and diarrheal symptoms. The study will use the Pearson Chi square test to analyze the relationship between the presence of T. suis and associated factors, in order to improve both animal health and productivity in the region, and develop effective control and prevention strategies. The results of the present study demonstrated a prevalence of 0% of parasites in feces in this case mainly Identification of trichuris suis in backyard pigs in the Pretoria enclosure of the Montalvo Canton belonging to the province of Los Ríos. This absence of parasites can be attributed to several factors, such as good health and biosecurity management, which could have reduced the presence of parasites in pigs. Furthermore, the absence of parasites could also be due to the use of effective parasite control programs, such as the administration of antiparasitics or having a very good implementation of soil and water management practices that reduce the presence of parasites.

Este parásito, cuyo ciclo de vida y resistencia ambiental dificultan su erradicación, puede causar enfermedades graves en cerdos jóvenes o en casos de parasitación masiva, incluyendo cuadros anémicos y diarreicos. El estudio empleo la prueba Chi cuadrado de Pearson para analizar la relación entre la presencia de T. suis y los factores asociados, con el fin de mejorar tanto la salud animal como la productividad en la región, y desarrollar estrategias de control y prevención efectivas. Los resultados del presente estudio demostraron una prevalencia del 0% de parásitos en las heces en este caso principalmente Identificación de trichuris suis en cerdos de traspatio en el recinto Pretoria del Cantón Montalvo perteneciente a la provincia de los Ríos.
