| Summary: | The present case study of a 20-year-old male patient who attended a medical consultation due to recurrent dizziness, poor concentration, fatigue and palpitations, indicates no personal pathological history, no smoking or alcohol, in the pathological history family members are both hypertensive and overweight, he refers that for approximately 6 months he has gained weight considerably having to change clothes size on two occasions, he refers that it all began when he moved to the city of Guayaquil for study reasons and states that generally and currently eats on the street and that is almost always junk food. The nutritional status was evaluated with anthropometric, biochemical, clinical, and dietary indicators, showing weight changes: 102kg, body mass index of 35.7 kg / m2, waist circumference 106 cm and hip circumference 98 cm with high cardiovascular risk, total cholesterol of 290mg / dl, HDL 93 mg / dl, LDL 187 mg / dl, TGO 42 U / L, TGP 43 U / L and triglycerides of 380 mg / dl. He is diagnosed with dyslipidemia and obesity grade II. The nutritional intervention was carried out with a therapeutic diet plan with the aim of improving the nutritional status and a diet of 2000 kilocalories of hypo-fat was prescribed distributed in 5 times of meals with physical activity of 30 minutes a day as part of the treatment according to the Spanish society for the study of obesity (SEEDO), concluding that improvements in the nutritional status with weight loss and biochemical values of the lipid profile decreased in 3 months. |
