| Sumari: | The clinical case to be presented analyzes a twenty-five-year-old female patient who has attended the optometric office in a timely manner with a previous wrong diagnosis of amblyopia in the right eye since childhood, for which she had been treated only with optical correction. of frame lenses in the left eye and occlusion therapy in his childhood, but without effective results, but rather on the contrary, with side effects that triggered various discomforts and inadequate vision. After his examination, a condition of anisometropic aniseikonia was diagnosed because the visual perception was different between both eyes, causing the brain system to generate difficulties in understanding the figures observed, thus causing poor vision and little comfort. When the brain interprets two images of different sizes, aniseikonia occurs, thus affecting the patient's visual acuity. Every optical system of frame lenses produces aniseikonia due to the distance to the vertex, which is why the option of "air optics" contact lenses was chosen as the ideal treatment for the patient in question, since when they were adapted we were able to notice great improvement and tolerance due to because it does not have the influence of said factor mentioned above. The analysis of this case is of great importance when approaching a subject that is sometimes little known but very relevant within the area of visual health and also allows us to know the best treatment in said case in order to provide timely and better quality care. to our patients. |
