Summary:Anxiety and its influence on the social relationships of a 16-year-old adolescent is what the present case study has been called, in which the automatic thoughts that are influencing the emotions and behavior of the patient were identified. Based on the criteria of the DSM-5, ICD-10 and the application of techniques and psychological tools, this case was diagnosed as: Panic disorder, for its treatment a therapeutic scheme was executed with the aim of achieving a cognitive restructuring, through techniques such as: Self-monitoring of apprehensive thoughts, self-monitoring of physical sensations, cost-benefits, examining the evidence and alternative interpretations. At the end of the process, the patient has the resources to face situations that generate anxiety, this allows them to regain their autonomy and well-being.
