Análisis de la presencia de parásitos Gastrointestinales en caninos del sector Sol Brisa de Cantón Babahoyo Provincia de Los Ríos

Parasites can use the body of canines as a definitive, intermediate, habitual or accidental host, to survive on the nutrients, vitamins and minerals of canines, which affect the health of pets and can even affect the health of people. that surround him. In the present study, the objective was to determine the presence of Gastrointestinal parasites in canines from the Sol Brisa sector of the Babahoyo Canton, Los Ríos Province and their presence related to age, sex, breed using the direct fecal smear technique. The methodology of the work consisted in taking stool samples from 80 random canines directly from the rectum, which were analyzed in the laboratory of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of the Technical University of Babahoyo to determine the variables. The results were statistically analyzed by means of an independence test with chi-square (x2) between the endoparasite-positive animals and the aforementioned variables. After the partial analysis and the tabulation of the data, the prevalence of gastrointestinal parasites in the sector was modified, of the 80 animals evaluated, 47 were found to be positive for gastrointestinal parasites with a percentage of 59%. According to sex, male dogs obtained 59% compared to females 58%, according to breed, the mestizos had 53% and those of pure breed 63%. Animals between 0 - 2 years old had 60% being the animals with the most frequency of parasites. Of the positive animals, the most frequent are amoebas with 53 %.
