| Zusammenfassung: | Chronic child malnutrition is a problem that affects a significant percentage of children under five years of age in several countries, as evidenced in the National Survey on Child Malnutrition in Ecuador. Childhood chronic malnutrition is not only related to lack of access to food, but also has roots in deeper social problems that must be addressed to find effective solutions. In the field of research, the present study has been carried out, which aims to determine the factors that influence chronic malnutrition in children under five years of age in the parish of El Salto, canton of Babahoyo, province of Los Ríos, during the period elapsed. from November 2023 to April 2024. To collect information on the topic in question, the survey was used as a tool, which was developed in a general way for caregivers of children with chronic malnutrition. Once the research was completed, the data were tabulated and analyzed. Furthermore, the importance of nursing interventions for the prevention and control of chronic malnutrition is highlighted. The implementation of research methods and preventive actions is crucial to control nutritional problems in the child population. These results allowed us to determine that the socioeconomic and nutritional factors are those that influence this health problem and led us to highlight the importance of addressing chronic childhood malnutrition from a comprehensive perspective. |
