These results allowed us to determine that the socioeconomic and nutritional factors are those that influence this health problem and led us to highlight the importance of addressing chronic childhood malnutrition from a comprehensive perspective. |

La desnutrición crónica infantil no solo está relacionada con la falta de acceso a alimentos, sino que también tiene raíces en problemas sociales más profundos que deben abordarse para encontrar soluciones efectivas. En el ámbito de la investigación, se han llevado a cabo el presente estudio que tiene como objetivo determinar los factores que influyen en la desnutrición crónica en menores de cinco años en la parroquia El Salto cantón Babahoyo, provincia de Los Ríos, durante el periodo transcurrido desde noviembre 2023 a abril 2024. Para recabar la información del tema en cuestión, se utilizó como herramienta la encuesta la cual se elaboró de manera generalizada para los cuidadores de los niños con desnutrición crónica. Finalizada la investigación se tabularon y se analizaron los datos. Además, se destaca la importancia de las intervenciones de enfermería para la prevención y el control de la desnutrición crónica. La implementación de métodos de investigación y acciones preventivas es crucial para controlar los problemas nutricionales en la población infantil.
