Samenvatting:This study was implemented in the educational unit to distance the Ríos, located in the canton of Buena Fe, province of Los Ríos, in order to determine if the methodology unsystematic education used by the teacher affects the development of skills and skills of critical thinking student, for the purpose of the research methods used by teachers in the teaching process for the development of critical thinking skills and skills identified in the students, also settled the factors that affect the development of critical thinking of learners. To achieve the results and implement the study, were applied to types, methods, techniques and instruments for scientific research, that allowed to collect, interpret, and analyze the primary information obtained through the type of field research and secondary information cited through several documented bibliographic sources, according to the variables of the object of study. The field study carried out in the educational unit distance, using a sample of 220 students and 16 teachers, these applied those surveys and provided information concerning the subject of research. The results achieved in the field study, through surveys and interviews applied respectively to students and teachers, determine the need to implement appropriate and innovative methodological teaching strategies that allow to optimize the development of skills and students critical thinking skills, so it accepts the hypothesis "methodological pedagogical strategies will enhance the development of skills and students critical thinking skills". This result leads to design actions that favors the integration of parents and teachers so that they provide support at all workshops that implements the educational institution, which can become platform and thus support the education of their sons and daughters; required the design, dissemination and application of teaching-methodological strategies, since it aspires to optimize the development of the skills and abilities of students critical thinking. From the study is defined as scope of the proposal to the results found the need to improve skills and the critical thinking skills of students of the educational institution, through the practice of systematic techniques and study habits. The proposal corresponds to an intervention program which pursues the development of techniques of study habits to improve the skills and abilities of the critical thinking of the students and therefore the quality of education. Achieve ideal performance in learners, using efficient pedagogical resources and integrating the parents to participate in the program, the idea is to motivate students to study more, to develop their abilities and skills that lead to overcome tenaciously.
