Grafting offers different advantages to farmers, among them: creating new varieties from selected buds or grafts, improving the conservation of the desired characteristics of the mother plant, reducing the time for flowering, fruit production, uniformity, high productivity and quality. There are various grafting techniques that have been implemented depending on the production objectives and that have been adapted to the morphological physiology of these species. Among the types of grafts we can find the following: Approach grafting, bud grafting and spike grafting. The most suitable grafting technique when carrying out these practices in citrus plantations is T-bud grafting or also called escutcheon due to its characteristics. |

El injerto es una técnica que consiste en la unión íntima de una planta con raíces (patrón) y una parte de otra planta (yema o injerto) de tal forma que se origina una simbiosis artificial y establecen una interacción. Los injertos ofrecen diferentes ventajas a los agricultores, entre uno de ellos esta: crear nuevas variedades a partir de yemas o injertos seleccionados, mejorar la conservación de las características deseadas de la planta madre, reducción del tiempo para la floración, la producción del fruto, uniformidad, alta productividad y calidad. Existen diversas técnicas de injerto que se han implementado dependiendo de los objetivos de producción y que se han adaptado a la fisiología morfológica de dichas especies. Entre los tipos de injertos podemos encontrar los siguientes: Injerto por aproximación, Injertos de yema e injerto de púa.
