The objective of this research work is: Analyze the relationship between refractive errors and the academic performance of students at the Nicolás Infante Díaz Educational Unit in the city of Quevedo in the year 2023. In this research work, a descriptive methodology is applied. , quantitative and qualitative. It is a non-experimental cross-sectional study carried out at the Nicolás Infante Diaz Educational Unit with a sample of 351 students who met the research criteria. 40% of students have some type of ametropia such as myopia, astigmatism or hyperopia, 90% of students have not undergone any type of visual evaluation in the last two years, 85% of those surveyed do not use no type of optical correction. 84% of students are not sure if visual problems affect their academic performance but they all agree that visual problems affect their sports performance. When identifying visual signs and symptoms, parents and authorities are recommended to go to a professional optometrist. |
