Hence, to reach the patient's diagnosis, different information collection techniques were used, such as the semi-structured interview, clinical history, and clinical observation and added to this the psychometric tests: OMS-ASSIST V3.0, Mayo Test and the Beck-II Depression Inventory (BDI-II). Likewise, a therapeutic scheme was proposed aimed at working with the symptomatology presented by the patient, which is based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Obtaining satisfactory results in the intervention performed, since the reduction of negative symptoms in the patient was achieved. According to the study, it was concluded that family dysfunction does affect the development of addictive behavior; however, there are other elements that also contribute to this and other risk behaviors. |

According to the study, it was concluded that family dysfunction does affect the development of addictive behavior; however, there are other elements that also contribute to this and other risk behaviors.En este estudio de caso de índole cualitativo se pretende desenmarañar las realidades y problemáticas que se manifiestan en una familia disfuncional las mismas que, predisponen al desarrollo de conductas negativas en los integrantes de la familia, como es el caso del paciente y el consumo de sustancias psicoactivas. El objetivo es determinar la incidencia de la disfunción familiar en el consumo de cocaína de un joven de 22 años de edad residente en CETAD “PAZ” del cantón El Empalme. De ahí que, para llegar al diagnóstico del paciente se utilizaron diferentes técnicas de recolección de información como la entrevista semiestructurada, historia clínica, la observación clínica y sumado a ello los test psicométricos: OMS-ASSIST V3.0, Test de Mayo y el Inventario de Depresión de Beck-II (BDI-II). Asimismo, se planteó un esquema terapéutico direccionado a trabajar con la sintomatología presentada por el paciente, el cual se sustenta en la Terapia Cognitiva Conductual. Obteniendo resultados satisfactorios en la intervención realizada, puesto que, se logró la reducción de la sintomatología negativa en el paciente.
