It was necessary to carried out a documental analysis to get bibliographic data about processes, control, past due portfolio, as well as the analysis of Enterprise documents about the situation of the past due portfolio; it was also needed to executed an interview to the manager to know past and present actions to solve the problem. Finally, some potential causes were determined and also suggested some immediate actions. |

Finally, some potential causes were determined and also suggested some immediate actions.La investigación analiza el nivel de cuentas por cobrar de la Empresa Pública Municipal Terminal Terrestre, Tránsito y Seguridad vial del cantón Babahoyo, TRANSVIAL E.P., las cuales evidencian un nivel poco favorable para los intereses de la administración, y que no han dado cumplimiento con las normas de control vigentes. Se planteó entonces como objetivo el determinar las causas que generan el elevado nivel de las cuentas por cobrar en el área comercial de TRANSVIAL EP 2022, con el fin de proponer acciones que permitan su atención. Fue necesaria la aplicación de un análisis documental tanto a nivel bibliográfico en temas de procesos, control y cartera vencida, como también en el análisis de la documentación de la empresa en lo que respecta a la situación de la cartera vencida; fue necesario además una entrevista a gerencia para conocer la acciones llevadas a cabo antes y ahora para atender el problema.
