Resumo:In the present investigation determined the efficacy of four insecticides chitin inhibitors (diflubenzuron, lufenuron, novaluron and teflubenzuron) for control of tomato moth (Tuta absolute Meyrick) Pimampiro in the province of Imbabura, with order to identify the most effective treatments or to control this pest, determine the agronomic and quality performance in fruits harvested at each of the treatments and perform economic analysis of treatments. The experimental design was a randomized complete (RCD) with 9 treatments and four replications for a total of 36 experimental units. The total area of 959.50 m2 experiment was the experience of 15.75 m2 plot, useful area 1.87 m2, and the distance between repetitions paths 1.5 m. Variables were evaluated: moth population, efficacy of insecticides, plant height, number of flowers per plant, number of fruits set commercial performance. Economic analysis was performed based on the yield (kg / ha) and the cost of each treatment. All variables were subjected to analysis of variance and the Tukey test used 5% to determine the statistical difference between the means of the factors and interpretation .
