Sumario:VIII. SUMMARY The present experimental work will be carried out on the grounds of the Community "Carolina 1" of Cooperativa 9 de octubre, located at Km. 9½ of the Babahoyo-Baba road of the Province of Los Ríos. The objective of this research was to determine the agronomic behavior of cocoa seedlings with the application of HAB biofertilizer in doses applied to the soil, foliage, both and with the use of additional chemical fertilizer. The clone CCN-51 was investigated, with 7 treatments and three repetitions, in plots of 20 units. They were distributed in a randomized complete block design. For the evaluation of means, the Tukey test was used at 95% probability. During the cycle, plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves per plant, root length, leaf area, economic analysis and microbiological analysis were evaluated. The results determined that the seedlings did not register significant differences between the treatments, however, the use of HAB applied to the soil generated greater height in the treated plants, the diameter of the stem presented a similar behavior among the treatments applied. The HAB treatment applied via foliar plus chemical fertilization presented greater root length, although this variable had similar averages between the treatments. The HAB treatment directed to the soil presented a greater quantity of live plants generating with this a higher utility, the lower income was registered in the control. The populations of the organisms increased due to the applications of the products in their different forms and doses.
