The following clinical case was focused on a 7-month-old pediatric patient who arrived at the emergency area with clinical symptoms of 5 days of evolution characterized by multiple diarrhea and continuous hyperthermia, a stool examination was performed, giving positive for rotavirus infection . Research was done on the causes and various factors that can lead to a rotavirus infection, as well as how to prevent this disease. The main objective of this clinical case was to apply the nursing care process to a young infant with rotavirus infection, the cephalocaudal assessment was carried out by Marjorie Gordon's functional patterns, to assess the patient, and thus be able to couple the care process nursing according to dysfunctional patterns.
