| description | The following case study was based on the case of a 19-year-old young man from the canton of Valencia, a student at the Polytechnic University of Babahoyo, who presented certain irrational beliefs that disturbed him to the point of affecting his behavior, which led to him to go to a psychological consultation through tableware. Based on this problem, this case study was carried out with the objective of analyzing the incidence of irrational beliefs that trigger maladaptive behaviors in the aforementioned young man. For the realization of this case study, theoretical and bibliographic information was gathered, through the use of techniques and instruments such as, clinical history, semi-structured interview, test of irrational beliefs, Pla ying role, Socratic debate and passive relaxation technique that helped with the realization and approach of variables, such as irrational beliefs and maladaptive behaviors. Which are exposed in this case study, the realization was carried out using techniques and under the rational emotional behavioral therapy therapeutic scheme, having the expected results for the improvement in the quality of life of the subject. |

Basándome en esta problemática este estudio de caso se realizó con el objetivo de analizar la incidencia de las creencias irracionales que desencadenan, conductas desadaptativas, en el joven anteriormente mencionado. Para la realización de este estudio de caso se reunió información teórica y bibliográfica, mediante el uso de técnicas e instrumentos tales como, historia clínica, entrevista semiestructurada, test de creencias irracionales, role Pla ying, debate socrático y técnica de relajación pasiva que ayudo con la realización y el abordaje de las variables, como creencias irracionales y conductas desadaptativas.
