Summary:Colon cancer has taken an important position at the health level since in developed countries it already occupies second place in the neoplasms that are most frequently diagnosed, in turn in our specific area, Ecuador occupies fourth place for what it is diagnosed in advanced stages since in the first place the patient does not seek help in decisive times. Added to this is that little by little in our area the consumption of fiber has been decreasing and the consumption of carbohydrates has increased, to this we add the sedentary lifestyle, the overweight and obesity, which is why we have seen it necessary to carry out our case study in order to educate the population. In the present clinical case we study a 43-year-old patient with a diagnosis of colon cancer at the sigmoid level, which is one of the areas with the highest incidence of its presentation, and we seek to adequately carry out the intervention. nursing that will allow the needs to be met from admission to the hospital stay until discharge. The results we have obtained have been thanks to the comprehensive management and timely diagnosis through the initial assessment of our patient. Once stable, it is possible to refer them to follow-up by specialty. oncology for subsequent management according to his situation, the planned interventions were appropriate and executed in a timely manner for the resolution of our patient's symptoms and he was discharged without any complications. In this clinical case we describe in detail the nursing diagnoses, the interventions carried out by nursing and the evolution of our patient based on the interventions that we as nurses have carried out.
