At the age of 3 to 4 years the children of the initial sublevel begin the acquisition of writing skills, through techniques executed by the classroom teacher, also performing adequate exercises to develop fine motor skills, which will be the sustenance of pre-writing and later of writing. The essay is based on a bibliographic study, with a quantitative approach, according to which the contributions of several authors are described and explained regarding the basic aspects of fine motor skills, the same as those involved in the acquisition of pre-writing skills in children of initial education. Likewise with the analysis that was used in the different methodologies with reference to the development of fine motor skills and their importance of prewriting, where it was evidenced that these have limitations, also giving rise to the difficulties that arise in the development of this important skill.

En la edad de 3 a 4 años los niños del subnivel inicial comienzan la adquisición de las habilidades de escritura, mediante técnicas ejecutada por el docente del aula, realizando también ejercicios adecuados para desarrollar la motricidad fina, las cuales serán el sustento de preescritura y posteriormente de la escritura. El trabajo de investigación parte de un estudio bibliográfico, con enfoque cuantitativo, en función del cual se describen y explican los aportes de varios autores respecto a lo aspectos básicos de la motricidad fina, lo mismos que interviene en la adquisición de las habilidades para la preescritura en los niños de educación inicial.
