Özet:The general objective of the current clinical case is to demonstrate the benefit of non-invasive ventilatory support in a 45-year-old patient with obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome admitted to the intensive care area of the General Hospital IESS Babahoyo, complying with all the systematic measures and instructions given by the respiratory therapy professional with these patients to avoid progressive hypoxia or hypercapnia. In this case, he used non-invasive ventilatory support as treatment, which is referred to as a support for the patient's ventilation and which does not require invasive methods such as endotracheal intubation or tracheostomy; non-invasive ventilatory support reduces the risk of causing nosocomial pneumonia or pneumonia associated with ventilatory support. The benefit of non-invasive ventilatory support was demonstrated in a 45-year-old patient with obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome admitted to the intensive care area, using the techniques and procedures prescribed by the resident physician in the area. It was possible to determine the characteristics of non-invasive ventilatory support, using the ventilatory mode in patients with obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS), such as continuous airway pressure (CPAP), used with an oronasal interface. Inhalation therapy was used with drugs such as corticosteroids, bronchodilators, and mucolytics that benefited the patient in an effective way, keeping the airway permeable with secretion aspiration techniques.
