Damage to young stems is manifested by elongated and irregularly shaped growth. Attack by nymphs and adults during flowering causes flower abortion, which reduces production. Trips damage avocado leaves and fruits by feeding on the cells of the epidermis, causing pale or brown areas that can allow the entry of pathogenic microorganisms. Se obtuvo información de diversas fuentes científicas para elaborar el documento. El aguacate es una fruta rica en lípidos, lo que la convierte en una opción alta en calorías desde el punto de vista nutricional. Además, los trips son uno de los organismos nocivos que afectan su cultivo. Insectos tienen amplia distribución global y causa daño por picaduras nutricionales en posturas, frutos, además transmiten virus. La saliva y toxinas de los trips endurecen y atrofian el limbo. El daño en tallos jóvenes se manifiesta por un crecimiento alargado y con forma irregular. El ataque de ninfas y adultos durante la floración provoca el aborto de flores, lo cual reduce la producción.
