| Zusammenfassung: | The present clinical case is about a 65-year-old patient diagnosed with HIV and visual impairment. In this type of patient, it is common to find ocular pathologies due to opportunistic infections typical of the disease and also with some specific medications that are used, opportunistic infection are the major cause of blindness in patients with HIV, and of visual disturbances, so it is necessary that they attend optometry consultation continuously, it is important to carry out the study of this clinical case, in order to find relevant information on the visual alterations and identify each one of them, in addition to doing clinical follow-up and treatment of the patient with HIV, with the aim of deepening and improving the visual quality of the patient by identifying the cause of the alterations. Deductive and inductive methods were used, as well as retrospective and bibliographic data of the patient, finding as a result that he suffered from visual alteration due to HIV, which caused the appearance of hard micro exudates, micro aneurysms and scattered intraretinal hemorrhages in its four quadrants, the result being that she began to lose visual acuity due to lack of timely control, which caused her a lot of discomfort such as blurred vision, burning of the eyes, it is concluded that the visual alteration due to HIV that the patient presents is a retinopathy and a refractive problem such as hyperopia and presbyopia typical of age . |
