| Summary: | This case study mainly involves data networks and communications, and its benefits in dealing with server technology issues; also to the efficient way of using them ensuring their operation in the longest possible time. At present, in the public sector, information security is prioritized, which is classified as one of the most precious assets for business continuity, and the point of difference with the competition. Information security within a company has several aspects: access security, device security, password management and vulnerability control, among others, it is also necessary to take into account that it is impossible to find completely secure systems, because every day discover new risks at different levels. (Monsalve-Pulid, 2014) Today, any organization, regardless of its size, has its website to spread its business and identity online. With all this, the web servers where each of these pages are hosted, have become an easy target for any type of attacker. The Autonomous Decentralized Provincial Government of Los Ríos has a Datacenter where 25 servers work, 7 of them are exposed directly on the internet, the same ones that have been attacked several times for the sole purpose of attracting attention, using it of spam or leaving without service to the enterprise. In the Autonomous Decentralized Provincial Government of Los Ríos, the web servers have a greater protection against any type of threats, especially they have a specialized and well elaborated security, however, they are not exempt of recurrent attacks. Most of these attacks, today, are a consequence of poor server configurations or bad design. |
