Description
Summary:Bovine brucellosis is an infectious disease of economic and health importance that affects cattle in the Mocache region. This disease is caused by bacteria of the genus Brucella and can cause abortions, sterility and weight loss in affected animals, which translates into significant economic losses for producers in the area. The objective of the experimental work was to study the incidence of bovine brucellosis in the Mocache canton. For the field work, the Bengal rose antigen was used to determine the positive and negative cases of bovis brucellosis. 10% of the bovine population of the Mocache canton was sampled, a total of 370 bovines. The results showed that the incidence of bovine brucellosis in the cattle population did not present positive cases.
