Sumario:Diagnosis of cattle diseases is a challenge in rural areas of Babahoyo, where traditional methods are still widely used due to lack of access to technologies and specialized veterinary assistance. This study seeks to evaluate the applicability of current technologies in the diagnosis of cattle diseases in this context. The overall objective of the study is to describe the technologies used to diagnose cattle diseases and their applicability in Babahoyo. To evaluate the perception, availability and applicability of these tools, a quantitative methodology based on literature review and farmer surveys was used. The results show that while technology can improve disease detection, its use has been limited by economic barriers and lack of training. While more sophisticated solutions such as computer vision require additional implementation strategies, tools such as portable diagnostic kits proved to be more applicable in this context. It is concluded that the adoption of these technologies will depend on their economic availability and the level of knowledge of livestock producers.
