| Sumari: | Introduction: The hypertension arterial (HTA), is considered a disorder in which a person's blood vessels that has a high voltage, which can cause irreversible damage systemically. Objective: To determine the relationship between nursing care and lifestyles in older adults with hypertension, from the community of Cuatro Esquinas, Guaranda, Bolívar, in the period from October 2018 to April 2019. Methodology: Qualitative-quantitative field study because the information was collected in the same place where the problem occurs, with a descriptive level because the actions of the nursing staff were analyzed and related to the lifestyles of the elderly. It was a cross-sectional study since the data were stored and analyzed in a single moment. The population consisted of 70 people and an intentional non-probabilistic sampling was carried out where certain inclusion and exclusion criteria defined by the researchers were established. Results: Of the total of the study sample comprised of 62 elderly people and who met the inclusion criteria, it was found that 39 people represented by the (62.9%) suffer from concomitant diseases. Regarding interpersonal relationships, treatment and care in their homes rated it as good (53%), compared to the few that claim to be bad (18%). According to eating habits a high percentage claimed to consume foods harmful to health and another small but representative percentage claimed to consume alcoholic beverages and cigarettes. A large percentage of older adults (63%) stated that they perform physical activity. With respect to the actions of interventions carried out by the nursing staff in the health sub-center, they carry out very few prevention and health promotion actions, and they go hand in hand with people who do not demonstrate correct adherence to pharmacological treatment. Conclusions: It was determined that the majority of diagnosed older adults are unaware of the risk factors that affect their development, as well as the integral treatment for their control or prevention of the underlying complications. |
