| Summary: | Anesthesia always carries a risk for the patient, and this is higher in veterinary medicine than in human anesthesiology. When choosing the most appropriate technique, a series of factors such as the type of surgery, temperament, and state of health of the patient and the characteristics of the anesthetic must be considered. Knowledge of local and regional anesthesia techniques are essential for every veterinarian, since they are a tool that facilitates conducting surgery procedures and thus avoid complications that may arise during it due to a poor choice of anesthetic. This document was developed with the aim of strengthening knowledge and recognizing the importance of the use of local and regional anesthetic blockades in bovines. It should be noted that multiple investigations promote a correct use of local and regional anesthetic blockades in bovine. This under the purpose of causing the least pain in the animal and that does not result in complications that may arise at the time of performing the surgical intervention. |
