description In older adults, there are multiple diseases that affect their quality of life and the achievement of satisfactory longevity. One of the most significant is osteoporosis, a disease with a high incidence worldwide, a phenomenon that is also observed in Ecuador. Osteoporosis is worrying due to its ability to increase bone fragility and the risk of fractures, leading to loss of autonomy, chronic pain and decreased quality of life. This condition represents a public health problem with epidemic dimensions, especially due to the increase in life expectancy. With the aim of evaluating the physiotherapeutic approach in patients diagnosed with osteoporosis, a research study was carried out at the Day Gerontology Center "Adultos en Activa" in the Montalvo Canton, during the period from June to September 2024. This research is observational, descriptive and field, since the data was collected from the medical records of patients with the diagnosis of the pathology and from the application of the TUG clinical test. Open interviews were conducted with the physiotherapy staff of the Daytime Gerontology Center "Adultos en Activa" (Adults in Activity), as well as with the group of older adults in which the observation will be carried out, finding 30 older adults with osteoporosis out of 60 respondents. It is concluded that therapeutic exercise, supported by scientific evidence, is effective in improving the quality of life, functionality, balance, coordination and reducing the risk of falls in patients with this condition.

It is concluded that therapeutic exercise, supported by scientific evidence, is effective in improving the quality of life, functionality, balance, coordination and reducing the risk of falls in patients with this condition.
