Summary:Acute appendicitis is a condition in which the appendix is inflamed and infected, which is a small sac located in the large intestine, it is the second cause of emergency abdominal surgery, in Ecuador it affects 22% per 10,000 inhabitants. The symptoms are characterized by intense pain in the right and lower abdomen that radiates to the navel and back, this pain worsens when the person coughs or makes sudden movements. Nausea and vomiting and loss of appetite may also occur. The present clinical case focuses on a 14-year-old male patient admitted to the emergency area due to the presence of intense pain in the right iliac region, with the purpose of developing the nursing care process in a patient with acute appendicitis, the Application in this case allowed the determination of the needs and / or potential health problems presented by the patient. Through the assessment and diagnosis, as well as supplying and responding to these needs through a care plan prioritizing nursing interventions to speed up the recovery of the patient, whose results were favorable during their hospital stay, being discharged under the treating medical criteria in clinical conditions.
