Tóm tắt:Sexual abuse is a worldwide problem that affects children and adolescents, as sexual abuse is known as any act that goes from constant sexual harassment to rape. Unwanted insinuations or proposals are part of the abuse, the victims of this traumatic event develop psychological, physical and social consequences. For this reason, the feeling of investigating what is the incidence of sexual abuse in the emotional impact in a 19-year-old adolescent in the Montalvo canton is awakened? Having as main objective of this case study to determine the incidence of sexual abuse and its emotional impact on an adolescent in order to expose how her mental health is altered. The adolescent shows signs and symptoms of developing a depressive picture according to the results obtained in the clinical history report, where all the relevant information is established to determine a possible diagnosis. Through the application of psychometric batteries, it was obtained that there is a moderate level of depression in the adolescent due to having provoked a traumatic event of such intensity, all this is reaffirmed with the indicators expressed by the adolescent through her speech. It concludes by establishing the relationship that exists between sexual abuse and the emotional impact on the 19-year-old adolescent from the Montalvo canton, thanks to the intervention sessions it was possible to obtain an improvement in the patient, leading to control dysfunctional thoughts.
