Summary:Bronchial asthma is a disease of respiratory origin, with repeated symptoms where the bronchial tubes become inflamed giving breathing problems, symptoms include cough, chest tightness and breathing difficulties. The main objective of this research work is to identify the risk factors that are the triggers in bronchial asthma disease in children 5 to 10 years of age at the IEES General Hospital, Babahoyo Canton, Los Ríos Province. The methodology applied in the research work focuses on the quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional study, using the analytical methods and thus being able to quantify the data, in statistical analysis tabulations. Obtain results obtained through the surveys applied to parents of families, thus collecting the information of the 126 children registered with positive bronchial asthma, where it is shown that 79% of family members do not know what bronchial asthma is, that the 87% of them do not know how to treat a possible asthmatic crisis of their children and 47% do not know about the factors that affect bronchial asthma. It was concluded based on the results obtained, it was determined that the most influential factor in bronchial asthma is genetics with 79% and allergens with 97%. In addition, it was possible to identify the most influential factor is environmental pollution, since it is an activating factor for allergens with 97% that lead to bronchial asthma.
