Description
Summary:This clinical case addresses the nutritional care process of a 69-year-old male patient with ileostomy and intestinal resection due to diverticular rupture. The main objective is to implement a dietary treatment plan that supports the patient's recovery and minimizes associated complications. Diverticular rupture can cause inflammation and obstruction in the intestine, requiring a nutritional approach adapted to the patient's new anatomy and digestive function. A comprehensive nutritional assessment is carried out, using anthropometric, biochemical, clinical, and dietary indicators to evaluate the patient's nutritional status and design a progressive feeding plan. This plan is tailored to the patient's specific needs to ensure adequate recovery and prevent complications. Informed consent is obtained to initiate treatment, and the patient's progress is continuously monitored to adjust the diet as necessary.
