description Hypertensive disorders during pregnancy are very frequent complications considered an important cause of maternal and/or fetal morbidity and mortality. Preeclampsia is a complication of pregnancy characterized by high blood pressure and signs of damage to another organ system, most often the liver and kidneys. Preeclampsia usually begins after 20 weeks of pregnancy in women whose blood pressure had been normal. One of the most important complications of pregnancy are the hypertensive disorders of pregnancy that affects between 5% and 10 and constitutes one of the main causes of serious morbidity, chronic disability, and maternal and fetal death. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), a tenth of maternal deaths in Asia and Africa, and a quarter of maternal deaths in Latin America, are related to hypertensive disorders of pregnancy: preeclampsia, eclampsia and HELLP syndrome. (Ministry of Public Health of Ecuador, 2020). This clinical case presented below is intended to inform all people about the great importance of regular monitoring during pregnancy. Since gestational hypertension is a major public health problem and one of the main causes of maternal-neonatal mortality. For this reason, he studied the present clinical case of a 43-year-old female patient with a medical diagnosis of 34 weeks pregnancy + preeclampsia. Through the analysis, the patient's health problem was identified in order to provide the nursing care process with the purpose of improving medical management for the prevention of preeclampsia and that the care and nursing are the same as It must be timely, based on a comprehensive assessment that ensures maternal and fetal well-being, in such a way that they know the risk factors that can give rise to these pathologies and their possible complications.
