Adaptación de prótesis ocular por enucleación en paciente de sexo masculino de 45 años de edad

Ocular prostheses are aesthetic replacement devices for the eye, be it due to total or partial loss of the ocular structure. They are adapted according to the personalized parameters of each patient so that there is symmetry with the healthy eye. This work deals with a clinical case of a 45-year-old male patient who lost his eyeball due to a penetrating trauma from a galvanized (wire), while he was working as a bricklayer. He went to an ophthalmological consultation, in which the galvanization was removed, he was sent to use eye drops with antibiotics, and he was not evaluated again. Two days later, the patient felt stabbing pain and the secretion of a transparent liquid, immediately afterwards the eyeball came out of its cavity. He proceeded to go to the emergency room where he underwent eye enucleation surgery. Subsequently, he is presented for an optometric consultation for the adaptation of his prosthesis in which the corresponding assessment was made, such as the diameter of the orbital cavity, sclera coloration, neovascularization, iris and pupil diameter, iris coloration, related to his healthy eye.
