Beskrivelse
Summary:A colostomy is a surgically created opening into the large intestine, through the abdominal wall. This results from normal bodily function to allow removal of intestinal contents after illness or injury. Colostomy surgery is performed due to different diaseases and problems. Some are done because of cancer while others are not. For example, a child may need a colostomy due to a birth defect. A colostomy may be needed for a short time (temporary), or for the rest of a person`s life (permanent), depending on the reason or type of problem. For the thousands of people who suffer from serious digestive diseases, a colostomy can be the beginning of a new and healthier life. The nutritional treatment of thois clinical case is based on carrying out a nutritional care process for a 46-years-old male patient with a medical diagnosis of colon cancer, through its objective, which is to improve the nutritional status of said patient through of a dietary treatment. Their nutritional assessment was evaluated to obtain a comprehensive nutritional diagnosis, a dietary treatment was designed and treatment follow-up was carried out to determine its effectiveness.
