Estrés laboral y su incidencia en la salud mental en un facilitador de 35 años del Centro Gerontológico de Quevedo

The present case study determines how work stress affects the mental health problems of a 35-year-old facilitator from the gerontological center of the city of Quevedo, Los Ríos-Ecuador. After several work situations that required the patient, he begins to suffer emotional, cognitive, social and somatic alterations. Therefore, a process was carried out with the facilitator comprised of 5 sessions, this patient was evaluated through various techniques of information collection such as Clinical history, clinical observation, semi-structured interview and psychometric test to evaluate the investigational variables and detect signs and symptoms suffered by the subject such as: Maslach’s Burnout Inventory, Beck’s Depression Inventory and Beck’s Anxiety test. Once the results were collected, an intention was made using cognitive behavioral therapy techniques, which were executed throughout the sessions and also developed at home. Finally, the resolution of the case was given with the conclusions, which were obtained with the help of the therapeutic process carried out, the theoretical support and criteria of the DSM-V and CIE-10 that contributed with the diagnosis and current situation of the patient.
