Control mecánico de Spodoptera frugiperda con el uso de varios sustratos inertes, en tres híbridos de maíz

On the grounds of the Experimental Farm "San Pablo" belonging to the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences at the Technical University of Babahoyo, located at Km 7.5 of the way Babahoyo - Montalvo, a trial was conducted in maize hybrids' Agroceres AG - 003 ',' Winner 8330 'and' Thunder NB 7443 ', trying different substrates such as mechanical control of Spodoptera frugiperda, in order to establish the percentage of corn heart attack caused by this insect, to determine the efficacy of mechanical control of insect with the use of different substrates, economic analysis of grain yield based on the cost of treatments. Were used as substrates, sand, sawdust, rice bran, bait insecticide, also included a control without substrate. Experimental design was used 'plots divided' into four replications. The main plots corresponded to maize hybrids and experimental substrates as subplots. The experimental sub-plot consisted of 6 rows of 6m in length 0.80m apart, giving an area of 28.8m2. The useful area of the subplot was determined by the 4 central rows giving an area of 19.2m2.
