Resumo:The theme "Anxiety and its incidence in interpersonal relationships", establishes a connection between the two variables, because the symptomatology of the disorder affects assertive interaction with other people, altering the patient's quality of life, and reinforcing maladaptive thoughts, therefore, the patient resorts to avoidance resulting in threats. The following case study was developed with a qualitative methodology, a descriptive approach and a quasi-experimental design, due to the fact that clinical observation techniques, semi-structured interviews, clinical history and psychometric tests were developed, such as the Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) and Scale Hamilton for Anxiety (HARS), the presumptive diagnosis according to DSM-V (300.02) and ICD-10 (F41.1) Generalized anxiety disorder. Among the findings, it is found that for the anxious person it is threatening to expose themselves to the evaluation carried out by others, discovering catastrophic thoughts of situations that merit social interaction, for this reason a therapeutic scheme was proposed that includes various techniques of the Cognitive- Behavioral such as: cognitive construction, differentiating events, thoughts and feelings, explanation of how thoughts create feelings, qualifying the degree of emotion and the belief of a thought, examining evidence, generating an alternative explanation, it is expected that in the course of the next sessions Behavioral techniques such as training in social skills are applied to the patient and the passive relaxation technique is used for somatic alterations.
