The work was developed in the La Union Parish of the Babahoyo City, with the aim of describing the ancestral knowledge of the ethnic montubio of the Ecuadorian coast applied in the livestock production. The activity pork, poultry and bovine are the most frequent in the parish la Unión, 10% of the producers exploit Creole breeds of pigs due to the taste of their meat, ease of ageing, resistance to bacteria especially to the scarce of the animal in the territory 67% of cattle producers keep animals in rustic facilities considered ancestral in food use balanced formula, while Creole animals are fed with plant material and kitchen residues; Ancestral management in birds the Union's inhabitants make use of lemon, coffee, red onion to fight respiratory diseases, paico for the deworming and guava bud to relieve intestinal infection.
