Sumari:Ovarian cysts are a very common disease in women, which in turn can be of different types and most ovarian cysts tend to have no symptoms. The objective of this clinical case is to present the Nursing Care Process in an adult patient with an ovarian cyst, who attends the emergency area of the IESS General Hospital in Babahoyo with a clinical picture of two days of evolution due to presenting acute type pain at the lateral level of the lower back, loss of appetite and refers pain at the time of sexual intercourse. The patient was assessed using the theorist Marjory Gordon and her functional patterns, as well as Dorothea Orem's Theory of Self-Care. Through the application of the Nursing Care Process, it was possible to provide all the necessary care, which was based on the patient's symptoms and their needs, in order to achieve an acceptable improvement, a situation that confirmed the effectiveness of nursing interventions applied to the patient.
