Description
Summary:This research focuses on the impact of bullying on the interpersonal relationships of an 8-year-old child at Aurora Estrada y Ayala Basic Education School in Babahoyo, Ecuador. The research is justified by the prevalence of school bullying in Ecuador and the need to address the problem. Five psychological sessions were conducted with the patient to obtain information about their situation. Signs of anxiety, social isolation, and poor academic performance were observed. The absent father and lack of attention from the mother were identified as precipitating factors for school bullying. A comprehensive psychological evaluation was performed and a possible diagnosis of generalized anxiety disorder was found. An individual therapy based on cognitive-behavioral therapy was proposed to help the child develop coping strategies and social skills to handle school bullying and anxiety. This study contributes to a better understanding of the impact of bullying on children's lives and finding effective ways to address the problem.
