Shrnutí:SUMMARY Pea is a product originating in the Middle East, which for many centuries was produced and consumed mainly in Europe, but over the years became part of the diet and agricultural production of the different countries of Latin America. In the case of Ecuador, it is the second most consumed legume by the households of the different socioeconomic levels, being the province of Carchi the one that registers the highest level of production of the pea at a national level, covering 47.46% of the production total of the country. Reason why in recent years more attention has been paid to techniques and crop management of this product, as it is known that the pests and diseases that attack it generate significant economic losses for those who sow them. Therefore, it is important that farmers who allocate part or all of their soil to plant this seed, first know the pests and diseases that attack the pea plant, and second that they know how to make an adequate and effective comprehensive management to prevent the loss of their pea crops, as well as achieving a high level of productivity of their land. Reason for which the objective of the present investigation, is to identify the plagues and diseases that attack to the pea cultivations of the agriculturists of the parish of Bolivar. To fulfill this purpose, a survey was applied to 15 pea producers in the area, finding that the pests that mostly attack their plantations are the borer in 67% and the miner in 33%. While the main diseases suffered by pea crops are 47% oidium, 33% fusarium and 20% anthracnose.
