Gaia:Anxiety and its influence on the school performance of a student of the educational unit 11 de Octubre del cantón Urdaneta }, aims to determine anxiety and its influence on the school performance of a student. Relating the variables anxiety and school performance, which was carried out a psychological and psychotherapeutic approach of the patient through different techniques and instruments used such as: clinical history, direct observation, semi-structured interview, psychometric techniques such as the Hamilton anxiety scale and anxiety inventory of Beck. Among the results, the DSM5 - ICD10 generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) can be evidenced, there is a relationship between anxiety and school performance, with their interpersonal relationship, emotional-affective relationship, school and their social behavior being detrimental. The objective of this research helped us to carry out a therapeutic scheme using the cognitive behavioral therapy model where goals and techniques were exposed for the possible reduction of symptoms in which the student is willing to collaborate and comply with each of the goals and objective of the treatment plan.
