Deterioro cognitivo y su incidencia en la salud mental de un adulto mayor de 69 años del cantón Buena Fe

This research addressed the issue of cognitive impairment and its influence on the mental health of an older adult, because the geriatric population is viewed as a forgotten group, priority care, prone to physical, mental, emotional and social problems, which They lead to degenerative diseases, associated with inappropriate lifestyles. A concomitant methodology with the theme was proposed, carrying out clinical interviews and psychometric tools for the elaboration of psychodiagnostics results. The development of the theoretical perspective was based on the review of academic documentation. According to the analysis, it is concluded that the results achieved are similar to the theory cited in this practical case study, it was concluded that the patient manifests moderate cognitive impairment, modifying cognitive functions such as memory, attention, retention of information, thus affecting their quality of life. Thanks to the collection of information, a therapeutic scheme can be implemented according to her symptoms.
