Summary:This clinical case study is about a 26 year old primigravida patient, who is 33.1 weeks pregnant with a diagnosis of diabetes mellitus type 1 since she was 9 years old, insulin-dependent, admitted to the emergency area of the University Hospital of Guayaquil, accompanied by family, presenting loss of consciousness due to hypoglycemia, the physical examination evaluated her vital signs, resulting in a capillary glycemia of 21 mg/dl, dextrose is administered 0. 5% in 200cc water was administered three times until normal blood glucose levels were restored, giving a result of 90 mg/dl. The treating physician admitted her to the gynecology area, with the diagnosis of pregnancy at 33.1 weeks of gestation plus decompensated type 1 diabetes mellitus. Through the evaluation of Marjory Gordon's altered functional patterns, the following is highlighted: Altered Pattern 1. health perception and management, Pattern 2. metabolic nutritional, Pattern 5. sleep and rest and Pattern 9. sexuality and reproduction.
